This month’s soap challenge, sponsored by Amy Warden of Great Cakes Soapworks, was just plain fun and really worth doing a few  times. The color pairing is endless so I let my scent lead the inspiration for color on my first effort.  The fragrance used was Peach Bellini from Wholesale Supplies Plus.  I used a picture of bedding from an LL Bean catalog, to influence the colors I chose for this creamy goat’s milk soap.  I used micas from the Conservatorie and combined them to replicate the pink, salmon, rust and off-white.  For good measure, I threw a tiny bit of green for interest and contrast.  The usual olive oil recipe worked well, but it thicken up a bit quicker than I would’ve liked.  This is my first try and I named it Just Peachy.  It smells amazing and I’m really happy with the technique.  Wish I could hire someone to  clean up the soap dishes though!130725_Bedding_ShopbyCat_01

  1. Before I read the post, I was thinking the fragrance should be a “dusty rose”. Oh, Belle Morte from Daystar would work fabulous with this color scheme. Love your soap!
