Organic Coffee Buttercream Body Scrub

$17.00

Organic Coffee Buttercream Body Scrub is an excellent choice for heavy duty cleansing, increasing circulation and exfoliation.  The caffeine in coffee is thought to stimulate blood flow which can aid collagen production. Coffee is a powerful antioxidant which can target free-radicals, an army of good-for-nothing loiterers that cause the skin to sag and look older.  This creamy scrub is also made with Dead Sea salt and blended with fragrant coffee butter. Coffee Buttercream Body Scrub works great as an extra-radical hand cleanser to use next to the kitchen sink to get rid of cooking odors like garlic, onion and fish.

Description

In the deep, mysterious dermis of your skin, one of your body’s constant assignments is to make new skin cells and send them to the front lines, the epidermis.  These wonderful little military troops are the body’s first defense from environmental assaults.  These cells eventually get tired and die, sloughing off the old to make room for fresh troops.  Exfoliating our skin helps this process along by increasing circulation, uncovering new, smooth skin cells that are ready for a scrimmage.  Removing old skin cells will unclog pores, remove dirt and oils and prepare the skin for an air strike.

An emulsified scrub is like a having a complete arsenal. It is a cleanser, an exfoliator and a moisturizer all in one!  An emulsifier, by definition makes oil and water play together nicely.  We love the way the scrubbies stay at attention when delegated to a creamy, thick lotion base.  But each type of our emulsified scrubs has its’ own unique qualities.  Here are the four types we offer:

  • Brown Sugar Scrubs are the most gentle choice for delicate facial skin.  If you are new to using scrubs or have skin sensitivities, this is a good place to start.  Brown sugar has natural alpha hydroxy acid (chemical warfare) which can help break down dirt and dead skin cells.  The aroma of brown sugar is warm and delicious and if by chance you get it on your lips, well, let’s say it’s not a bad thing.
  • White Sugar has a similar texture to brown sugar but can be a bit finer grain. Sugar tends to be the most common form of face and body scrubs because it also won’t sting freshly shaved skin like a salt scrub might.  Apart from the obvious benefits of gentle exfoliation, the aroma-therapeutic qualities abound depending on what scent you choose.
  • Dead Sea Salts are generally more abrasive and slightly drying but are excellent for removing dead skin, callouses and toxins.  Try a course salt foot scrub for reinvigorating tired legs and get smooth, sandal-ready feet.  Use a fine salt scrub for removing bacteria on acne-prone skin. Dead Sea salt has a whole host of minerals that are thought to help with eczema, psoriasis, muscle fatigue and soreness.
  •  Ground Coffee is another excellent choice for heavy duty cleansing, increasing circulation and exfoliation.  The caffeine in coffee and green tea are thought to stimulate blood flow which can aid collagen production. Coffee is a powerful antioxidant which can target free-radicals, an army of good-for-nothing loiterers that cause the skin to sag and look older.  I love this ground coffee/dead sea salt scrub combo as a hand cleanser next to the sink to get rid of cooking odors like garlic, onion and fish.
